Products > Product properties > Friction
It is virtually impossible to obtain a meaningful assessment of the friction behavior of plastics, since, in practice, friction processes are accompanied by effects that cannot be defined in a comprehensive manner. The friction behavior of Desmopan products is determined by their hardness and surface finish. Friction increases as the hardness of the material decreases. “Stick-slip” effects thus develop with flexible products. Friction behavior is also dependent on the surface against which the friction is tested, as well as on the condition of the surface (wet, dry). |
