[Mechanical properties]

The Desmopan® grades have hardnesses ranging from 60-98 Shore A and 30-75 Shore D. They are characterized by high values for tensile stress and elongation at break, but these are only of interest when describing the materials. For practical purposes the stress-strain values in the small deformation range are key.

Desmopan® offers outstanding resistance to wear by virtue of its high tear and tear propagation resistance combined with elasticity. Under certain conditions, e.g. wet abrasion, Desmopan® can attain a longer service life than high-grade steels.
