Coating

Desmopan® and Texin™ are outstandingly well suited to coating and yield highstrength coatings. Because of the excellent elasticity of Desmopan® and Texin™, 2-component polyurethane coatings (DD coatings) are normally used. A primer has to be applied to the cleaned, grease-free parts before coating. It should be formulated for TPU and dissolve TPU on the surface to ensure that a strong bond is created with the topcoat.

Metallizing

New techniques have been introduced to enable the surfaces of Desmopan® and Texin™ to be metallized. The thin metal coating is so elastic that the TPU part can withstand bending up to a certain angle without cracking.
